Call setups are forwarded from one gatekeeper to another. Each remote zone where you want to reach an endpoint must be configured on the local gatekeeper. Bandwidth management (CAC) can be configured between zones, from zone X to any other zone.

Configuring the Zone Subnet Command zone subnet local-gatekeeper-name {default | subnet- address {/bits-in-mask | mask-address}} enable To configure a gatekeeper to accept discovery and registration messages sent by endpoints in designated subnets, use the zone subnet command in gatekeeper configuration mode. You can use the zone subnet command more than once to create a list of subnets controlled by a gatekeeper. To specify a particular endpoint, you can supply its address with a 32-bit mask.

22 © 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved. GWGK v Summary For network scalability, multiple gatekeepers can be used. Each zone can be managed by one gatekeeper. Gatekeepers can be interconnected with the zone remote configuration command in gatekeeper configuration mode. Directory gatekeeper configuration is similar to a normal gatekeeper configuration except for LRQ forwarding. By default, a gatekeeper accepts all registration requests. This can be changed through the zone subnet command. For verification of multiple gatekeepers and directory gatekeepers, you can use several show and debug commands.
