SELF-LEVELIZER 1 CM Self Levelizer
SELF-LEVELIZER 2 Description of self-levelizer Necessity of Level Control Purpose of self-levelizer - To keep the vehicle height constant. For the SUV & Van which has various rear wheel load - Stable Wheel Position ( Toe-in, Camber … ) - Constant Head Lamp projection angle - Compensate reduced Ground Clearance by vehicle load Less tire wear, Better driving feeling Vehicle protection Driver protection Level Control After 2Km later
SELF-LEVELIZER 3 Comparison of Level Control System Hydro-Pneumatic TypePneumatic TypeSelf-LevelizerTYPE Appear ance Prin ciple Feat ures Generate oil pressure by a hydraulic pump and apply to the damper by PCV control Generate air pressure by air pressure source and apply to the damper through a control valve Air pressure Mechanical pumping type using the compression / rebound stroke - Active vehicle height control - Complicated construction/ High cost - Active vehicle height control - Variable damping function - Complicated construction/ High cost - No active height control - Simple construction/ low cost - Easy layout
SELF-LEVELIZER 4 Principle of Self-Levelizer Unload Unloading Height compensation Loading Pumping by a relative movement between Axle & Body UnloadingSelf returning to standard height High press. Oil Releasing Loading Unload No pumping mechanism by a bypass device (remaining standard height) Vehicle height momentarily increases by the force from pumping. --> Releasing device operates. Leveling force reduces by Releasing --> selft returning to standard height Standard Vehicle Height Pumping -> Bypass closed, damper rebounce/pumping, vehicle height-up. Self returning
SELF-LEVELIZER 5 Construction Oil Intake Line Pump Rod Bypass (vehicle height control) Piston Valve Assy high Oil Reservoir Boot (Oil/Gas) Inlet Check Valve Outlet Check Valve Pump Chamber Pump Cylinder Low Oil Reservoir Gas Chamber Section view Genenral - Applied vehicle: Galaxy – Ford - Features: Oil type, Mechanical vehicle height control type (Self-Levelizer)
SELF-LEVELIZER 6 Operation 1) Unloaded - Pump Chamber and High Oil Reservoir are connected through the Bypass hole, No oil supply to the Pump Chamber from the Low Oil Reservoir while Bump / Rebound No Pumping process - Keep the same pressure at each Chamber Keep normal vehicle height (Parking, driving)
SELF-LEVELIZER 7 2) Unloaded Loaded ( Driving with load ) - Low vehicle height Piston rod compression Bypass hole is cut off by Pump Cylinder - Rebound : Piston Rod extended Pump Chamber volume increased, pressure reduced Pump Rod Inlet Valve Open Oil flow to Pump Chamber to Low Oil Reservoir - Bump : Piston Rod compressed Pump Chamber volume reduced, pressure increasing Pump Cylinder Outlet Valve Open Oil flow to the Working Chamber and high Oil Reservoir from the Pump Chamber - Bump / Rebound repetition Working Chamber pressure steadily increasing Vehicle height increase - Bypass hole open at the normal vehicle height Pumping halt Constant vehicle height
SELF-LEVELIZER 8 3) Loaded Unloaded - Rebound stroke increase by the High Oil Reservoir when the loaded removed - Oil inside High Oil Reservoir drains to the Low Oil Reservoir through the Release because the Bore Level Position moves up higher than the original position - Level Position returns to the original position.
SELF-LEVELIZER 9 Analysis of construciton 1) Appearance: E-E Type Damper
SELF-LEVELIZER 10 Low Pressure Oil Reservoir High Pressure Gas Chamber Outershell Boot Case High Pressure Oil Reservoir 2) High Pressure Gas Chamber, High Pressure Oil Reservoir & Low Pressure Oil Reservoir - High Pressure Gas Chamber : Outershell lower part & space between Boot - Low Pressure Oil Reservoir: Outershell upper part & space between case - High Pressure Oil Reservoir: Space between the Case & Boot - Boot : Flexible rubber material and tightly inserted into the Case, Outershell, Rod Guide
SELF-LEVELIZER 11 3) Piston Valve - Damping force is generated while Bump / Rebound stroke ( Mono-Tube type Piston Valve ) Piston Valve Cylinder Pump Rod
SELF-LEVELIZER 12 4) Pump Chamber, Pump Rod, Pump Cylinder & Check Valves - Pump Chamber : Area between Inlet Check Valve & Outlet Check Valve of Pump Cylinder. Pump out the oil from the Rod to High Pressure Oil Reservoir - Pump Rod : Hollow rod attached to the Case. Oil path between Low Pressure Oil Reservoir to Pump Chamber. - Pump Cylinder : Inserted into Piston Rod, Guide of Pump Rod and construction of Pump Chamber Pumping oil generated between Piston Rod and Pump Cylinder moves to High Pressure Oil Reservoir Pump Chamber Pump Cylinder Piston Rod Inlet Check Valve Outlet Check Valve Pump Rod - Inlet Check Valve : Oil flow from Pump Rod to Pump Chamber - Outlet Check Valve : Oil flow from Pump Chamber to High Pressure Oil Reservoir
