5 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. is an American film and television production company. It is part of the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, which is owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, a subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Sony. Established in 1924, Columbia is tied with MGM for the fifth-oldest American movie studio still in operation.
