2 Case is the form of the noun indicated the relation of the noun to other words in the sentence or phrase.
3 There are two cases of nouns in English: the Common Case and the Possessive Case.
4 The Common Case has no special case endings. The relation of the noun in the common Case to other words is indicated by its position and by means of prepositions.
5 A noun in the Common Case with the prepositions to or for may express the relations which are expressed by the Ukrainian Dative Case.
6 The combination of a noun in the Common Case with the preposition of often expresses the relations which are expressed by Ukrainian Genitive Case.
7 A noun in the Common Case preceded by the prepositions by or with may express the relations which are expressed by the Ukrainian Instrumental Case.
