2 What is Lifelong Learning? Lifelong learning is a form of self-initiated education that is focused on personal development. While there is no standardized definition of lifelong learning, it has generally been taken to refer to the learning that occurs outside of a formal educational institute, such as a school, university or corporate training.
3 There are some important challenges to making lifelong learning a reality. One of them is the increased responsibility of the learner to discover and pursue learning opportunities once they move beyond formal education. Lifelong learning requires individuals to be active learners that have the skills to learn in a self-motivated and self- directed manner. Solution to this, to be less responsible, and spend more time on vacation
4 Rework motivation to learn Misalignment of workforce strategy with business goals was cited as a top challenge for business leaders. 60% of businesses agreed that learning is still perceived as departmentally-driven and, as such, is the responsibility of the L&D and/or HR departments - business functions that are not always the driver of change in businesses. 6 English is not only a system communication, but also the preeminent language of science, technology and medicine. Since English has become the lingua franca of the 21 st century over 2 billion people are learning English nowadays. This serves to emphasize on the fact that the need of language learning is greater than ever.
7 As the Internet has changed the way we think about the transfer of information, so has it eliminated the sense of distance between us and the citizens of other countries. Materials from around the world, for both business and pleasure, are available to every person who has access to a Diverse cultures in contact with one another can create unprecedented opportunities for exchange, cooperation, and mutual benefit. International contacts are an integral part of many careers, and people without the skill and sensitivity to deal with other cultures are at a disadvantage.
8 . it is especially important to note that the game activates the desire of younger schoolboys to contact with each other and the teacher creates the conditions for equality in speech activity, destroying the traditional barrier between teacher and student. Communicative games provide a variety of language that is due to the situation of communication, everyday life. The game situation is stored in children twice more words than a conventional plant for memorization. The fact that the game is of interest and activity of children and gives them the opportunity to express themselves in a fun activity for them contributes to a more rapid and lasting memorize foreign words and sentences.
9 Pros of globalization on non-English languages Greater access Globalization has opened the doors for millions of people to discover and learn non-English languages. Now, someone sitting in Tokyo can learn Spanish, either from an app or an online tutor based in Barcelona. This has also enabled people to discover literature from other languages, facilitating the growth of the publishing industry.
10 Cultural awareness By discovering non-English languages, millions of people also understand various cultures. This removes preconceived notions and makes it possible to appreciate the views of those from different cultural backgrounds. Global market As more non-native speakers discover different cultures and languages, it creates international markets for everything from books to movies. French films find audiences in the US, and Korean language series have global viewers. Translation services have also played a key role in this.
11 Advantages of globalization on non- English languages Globalization has led to the dominance of English as the language of education and business in several countries. This places people without proficiency in English at a disadvantage, raising concerns related to inequality. Business barriers Since English is the language of global business communication, those without proficiency in it find it difficult to engage in transactions with companies and individuals whose primary language is English. This significantly limits opportunities for both sets of businesses and even limits the growth potential of those societies.
12 Preference for English content At least in some countries, globalization has significantly increased the demand for entertainment content in English. This has translated to bigger markets for Hollywood films and English series in non-English markets. Streaming services are there to address that demand, leaving consequences for non-English entertainment content. Resistance There have been movements to stop the gradual displacement of non- English languages in several countries. Regional languages have been made the official languages of those governments. Additionally, there are calls to favor non-English languages in business and entertainment.
13 In conclusion, however, with globalization allowing languages and their cultures to spread and dominate on a global scale, it also leads to the extinction of other languages and cultures. Language contributes to the formation of culture, such as through vocabulary, greetings or humor. Language is in a sense the substance of culture.
