Because of their high brightness, stability, low cost, and wide range of shades, their use has extensively increased in the past two decades in comparison with natural colorants.

4 The highest dose of it is in soft drinks: 70.0 mg l -1. It may cause asthma, rashes, and hyperactivity, and aspirin-sensitive people must also avoid it. The concentration of these additives must be carefully controlled as they may have various harmful effects on human health.
