2 London is the 9 th largest city in the world. If London was a separate country, it would have ranked the 8 th place in Europe in size.
3 London is on the zero meridian, which has a better known name is Greenwich. The meridian was so named because it passes through the Greenwich area.
4 The world famous sight of London, Big Ben actually is called not a clock or a tower, but a 13-ton bell located inside the clock. The clock tower itself bears the name of Elizabeth, in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.
