2 Australia - the largest island of Oceania, was named the fifth continent. Its fauna is unique, but completely devoid of monkeys, thick- skinned mammals and ruminants.
3 Australian coat of arms consists of a shield supported by a kangaroo and EMU as the most famous in the world of typical Australian animals. They were chosen also because neither kangaroos nor emys can't walk (backing) ago.
4 Kangaroo An adult kangaroo can reach a length of 1.3 – 1.6 m and weighs about 90 kg. The kangaroo is the only animal that is walking by using jumps. Females have pouches in which newborns are about 9 months until they become independent enough to live separately from mom. Kangaroos are very social and live in groups called herd. This is the herbivores.
5 Emu A bird with a height of about two meters, the Australian ostrich. Lives in large herds that are constantly moving in search of food and water. The female emu lays large green eggs, but the incubation period does the male.
6 The platypus, like reptiles, lay eggs. But toddlers female platypus are fed with milk. The appearance of the platypus fits its name it's a mammal, like the beaver, has a nose like the beak of a duck. Platypus
7 Koala Koalas live throughout Australia. The only food of the Koala is eucalyptus leaves. Koalas almost never drink water because the leaves contain enough moisture. Koalas have a big nose and they need to recognize safe of the shoots of eucalyptus.
8 Tasmanian devil Lives only in Tasmania; he is even sometimes called Tasmanian devil. This predator spends the day in bushes, and at night go hunting. Loves to fight, engages in battle with a stronger opponent, wins even dogs. If you catch a calf, easily tamed, and becomes attached to the person.
