NOISE POLUTION PRESENTED BY: BEKESHEVA MADINA NOISE POLUTION PRESENTED BY: BEKESHEVA MADINA
THE PROBLEM Noise polliution is a type of energy pollution in which distracting, irritating, or damaging sounds are freely audible.
CAUSES In this type of contamination the humans are the main guilty because is due to them who exist noise harmful to health or welfare. Transportation vehicles are the worst offenderes, with aircraft, rail road stock, trucks, buses, automobiles, and motorcycles all producing excessive noise.
EFFECTS In the narrowest sense, sounds are considered noise pollution if they adversely affect wildlife, human activity, or are capable of damaging physical structures on a regular, repeating basis.
Noise pollution can cause annoyance and aggression, hypertension, high stress levels, sleep disturbances, and other harmful effects
An impact of noise on animal life is the reduction of usable habitat that noisy areas may cause, which in the case of endangered species may be part of the path to extinction.
Train, airplane automobile, motorcycle, and even entertainment noise can disturb wildlife habits, sleep disruption in humans and animals, hearing loss heart disease and in severe cases even mental instability.
The noise level is measured in units expressing the degree of sound pressure is the decibel (DB). This pressure is perceived is not unlimited. The noise level is DB is harmless, it's natural background. Loud noise -80 DB, 130 DB –pain, 150 –the sound becomes unbearable.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS There are avariety of strategies for mitigating roadway noise including: use of noise barriers, limitation of vehicle speeds, alteration of roadway surface texture, limitation of heavy vehicles, use of traffic controls that smooth vehicle flow to reduce braking and acceleration, and tire design.
CONCLUSIONS Many conflicts over noise pollution are handled by negotiation between the emitter and the receiver.
Methods of dealing with noise pollution Differentiation of roads and streets according to their purpose, composition and speed of traffic flows; Restriction of movement of cargo transport types on local roads; Preparation of noise maps of cities. The removal of roads, designed to transit traffic, beyond the boundaries of the city; Timely repairs and maintenance in proper condition of roads; Strengthening of control of technical condition of private and public transport (technical inspections checking the noise characteristics of vehicles
