2 Related Article - Different Ways to View PowerPoint 2007 SlidesDifferent Ways to View PowerPoint 2007 Slides Use the Slide View That is Right for the Task SlidesSlides in any PowerPoint presentation can be viewed in a variety of ways depending on the task at hand. To access all the different slide views, click on the View tab of the ribbonat the top of the PowerPoint screen. 3 Normal View - The Most Common Slide View Normal View or Slide View as it is more commonly known, is the most often used view while creating a PowerPoint presentation. When you first start the program, the screen opens in Normal view. Working on a large
4 Miniature Versions of the Slides Slide Sorter View shows miniature versions of all the slides in horizontal rows. These miniature versions of the slides are called thumbnails. Slides can be easily deleted or rearranged quickly in this view. Effects such as transitions and sounds can be added to several slides at the same time in Slide Sorter view
5 Notes for the Presenter Note Pages show a smaller version of the slide with an area below for printed notes. Each slide is created on its own note page. 6 It 's Show Time Slide Show view is the view used for presenting to an audience. The whole screen is taken over by your PowerPoint 2010 presentation. Slide Show view can be accessed from the Slide Show tab of the ribbon. Choose one of the following options: From Beginning - This will show the complete slide show in full screen. From Current Slide - This will start the slide show from the active slide and proceed through the remainder of the slides. Press the F5 key to view the complete slide show. Press Shift + F5 to view the slide show from the current slide forward. To exit Slide Show view at any time, press the Esc key on the keyboard.
7 Reading View in PowerPoint 2010 Reading view is new to this version of PowerPoint. It is similar to slide show view. The difference between the two views is that whileslide show view takes over the whole screen, the slide in reading view is also shown in full screen, but you will also see the PowerPoint title band at the top of the screen and the PowerPoint status bar and the Windows task bar displayed at the bottom of the screen. The ribbon and the slides/outline pane are no longer visible.ribbon Reading view is useful to quickly navigate the slide show, but have easy access to the Windows task bar to switch to other available open programs or windows.
8 Text Summaries Outline View can be accessed by selecting the Outline tab on theSlides/Outline pane at the left of the PowerPoint 2010 screen. Outline view shows all the text of all slides in a list. No graphics are shown in Outline view. Outline view is useful for quick editing purposes and can be exported out as a Word document to use as a summary handout.
9 Quick Access Buttons in PowerPoint 2010 It is not necessary to switch to the View tab of the ribbon in order to quickly see your slides in a different view. At the bottom right corner of the PowerPoint screen, you will see the quick access buttons. The screen shot above indicates the different buttons and their uses. You can quickly switch to Slide Sorter view, Normal (or Slide) view, Slide Show view or Reading View. You can also zoom in or out on the current view, or fit the current slide to the window.
