2 Over the years of independence, Uzbekistan athletes have won more than 6,700 medals of various denominations at the Olympic Games, championships and World Cups, Asia, Asian and other major international competitions. "At the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Sydney, Athens and Beijing, representatives of our country won 4 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze medals. The sportsmen of Uzbekistan took part in the 5-year-old Asian Games. In these games, athletes of Uzbekistan won 232 medals, including 53 gold, 83 silver and 96 bronze medals.
