3 Are ICT useful to increase learners motivation? 1.Younger learners are growing up with technology, and its a natural and integrated part of their lives. 2.English, as an international language, is being used in technologically mediated contexts. 3.Learners and parents expect schools to integrate technology into learning. 4.Technology is becoming increasingly mobile and available to learners.

5 What is ICT? The ICT (Information and communication technologies) are the group of resources, process, techniques and computational and informatics tools used to manipulate, store, share, and/or to transmit information; and to be contact with other persons The ICT allow to optimize the management of information The ICT include devices and programs as computers, multimedia technologies, scanners, digital camera, etc. Also include tools of communication such as internet, , chats, video conferencing, telephone and others.
6 The role of ICT in education: To stimulate interest and motivation in learning process; To change the traditional way of teaching implementing the use of multimedia technologies such as video, images, animation and visual effects, etc; New opportunities for authentic tasks and materials; To develop and practice learners skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking); Teaching-learning interaction between teachers and students.
7 The teacher has to: - take training in the ICT and improve his/her ability to gather information from different available sources using various digital tools. - assemble, explore, analyze and evaluate critically the data gathered by him/her. - to deal at least with several programs: Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Acrobat Reader/Writer, Power Point Presentation and etc. - be ready to innovate.

Graphic Organizers/Worksheets/Quizzes/Tests Students typing their class/homework instead of writing Engaging in activities Great for Kinesthetic leaners Helps learners focus Great for learners who struggle with fine motor skills/handwriting
