7 The general Cheremisinov Ivan founded a new city with Russian population in 1558.

8 It was always very important for the Russian Empire.

9 In 1717 Peter the Great established Astrakhan province. In 1722 Peter the Great visited Astrakhan.

10 The Tsar guards Astrakhan severely: every year he sends people, food and wood here to build the Kremlin.
