Park House, on the royal estate of Sandringham in Norfolk, was her birthplace. The house, which overlooks the parks stands about half a mile from Sandringham House. Her mothers parents lord and lady Fermay lived there earlier.
Diana was the youngest daughter of Edward John Spencer, Viscount Althorp, later John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, and his first wife, Frances Spence, Viscountess Althorp (formerly the Honourable Frances Burke Roche, and later Frances Shand Kydd).
Diana was six when her parents divorced, and her mother the viscountess Oltrop, married the second time the businessman P.Kid-der. The children remained with the father. These events were stuck in her memory forever.
Being a child Diana liked games, also swimming, running and dancing. She dreamt to become a ballerina, but, then, as she told herself, that she was too tall for that.
Diana was sent to the private school – at first in Norfolk, then in Kent. When she was 16 ahe left for Switzerland and finished school there. Have returned, she lived with her friends in London, earning as a cook or a nanny, and then found the job of a teacher in a kindergarten.
For the first time Diana met the prince Charles in 1977, in the estate of Dianas father. At that time Charles was already an adult man, the Crowned prince of England and he had to find a wife from the noble family because she had to be the wife of the monarch. They began to date.
Nobody told the princess that at the moment she met Charles he had amorous ties with Camilla Parker Boules and it had continued for seven years. Camilla was a married woman and she couldnt get married Charles, thats why she advised to marry Diana. She said to Charles :Marry Diana. She is gentle, you wont have any problems with her. The prince followed her advice, but he didnt want to lose Camilla.
At first Diana took a fancy to the young man. She was romantic and serious, she dreamt about her house and her family. She didnt want to repeat the mistake of her parents. Time passed and Diana fell in love with Charles. The romance developed swiftly, their engagement was declared.
The 20-year-old princess married at St Pauls Cathedral on 29 th of July in St Pauls Cathedral offered more seating than Westminster Abbey and used to be residence for royal nuptials. The ceremony was widely billed as a fairytale wedding and was watched by a global television audience of 750 million. Lady D. became the first English woman who married the Crowned prince for 300 years.
From the first days the beautiful story about the Welsh princess and prince began to fall to the ground. There were several reason. Charles was twelve years older than his wife and didnt share her interests. Diana dreamed about love and wanted her husband to love her. But educated in strict rules Charles wasnt used to spontaneous expression of his feelings. Besides the beautiful, sincere, frank Diana was deprived of that stiffness, which is peculiar to all the members of the royal family. Later, she said that she couldnt imagine herself as the queen, whose life observed etiquette.
In 1981 and 1984 years Diana gave birth to Charles heirs-the prince William and Harry. Their family seemed to be normal. And only the close relatives knew that lady D. suffered. The reason was the behavior of her husband.
The Royal Family hoped that with birth of the sons peace would resign in the family, but their hopes collapsed. Charles and Diana were moving away from each other. Since autumn 1987 the couple began to spend practically all the time separately. The official divorce was held in August, Buckingham Palace stated that Diana was still officially a member of the Royal Family, as she was the mother of second- and-third-in-line to the throne.
Meanwhile Diana became more and more popular. She began to dress well showing her fine taste. Besides she began to shrink into herself and suffer from diffidence. As a result she fell seriously ill, it was bulimia. She wanted to eat all the time. Diana needed help, she asked for help, but in vain. These years she tried to kill herself. The family of the queen refused to help Diana. Diana had to choose : either to obey the hated style of life or to show her individuality. She preferred the last. Diana and Charles continued living together, but Diana already began another life-the life of an independent woman. To overcome the illness she began to visit the Harbor sport club.
The children had grown and Diana had more free time. She used her free time originally. In 1987 in all the newspapers appeared the photo where Diana held the hand of a person sick by Aids. The princess became the national patroness of the fund fighting against Aids. She showed the world that people with AIDS deserve no isolation, but compassion and kindness. It helped change worlds opinion, and gave hope to people with AIDS. Diana worked particularly for the Red Cross.
Diana was devoted to the sick and the poor. She worked on children's charities, and had teamed up with Hillary Clinton in an effort to ban landmines. She didnt want to give people only money, she wanted to give them a part of her soul, to make them happy.
Charles didnt understand his wife and he thought that Diana only wanted to be popular. She had to admit that she was loved by all the world except her own husband. After there years Diana and Charles began divorcing and on the 29th of August 1996 they had divorced. But Dianas popularity didnt change. After the divorce, Diana retained her apartment in Kensington Palace.
Rock stars (Sting,Elton John), pop singer George Michael, film stars and producers(Tom Hanks,Steven Spilberg,Nicole Kidman,Tom Cruise) and other famous people were among her friends. But she had more friends among common people.
The last Dianas love was the son of an Egyptian billionaire Dodi Al-Fayed. The princess with her children and Dodi had a rest on the sky-blue beach in France. After that Dodi told his relative that the princess agreed to marry him and soon they would declare about their engagement. He assigned 200 million dollars in the bank and left them by will to Dianas children after his death. Diana wanted to tell her children about this decision after the rest. Paris was the last city where she was alive.
In the evening On 31 August 1997 Diana and Dodi decided to supper in the restaurant of the hotel Rits which possessed Dodi. At night at one oclock they wanted to go home. They didnt want to meet paparatsi there. They got the MercedesS-280 with the body-guard Trevor-Rez Jons and the driver Anri Poll. It isnt quite clear what happened in several minutes but three of the four perished in the accident which took place in the underground tunnel. It was very difficult to extract Diana from the crashed car, after that she was immediately sent to the hospital Pitti Salptrreer. During six hours the doctors were trying to save her life, but in vain, she died. It was a great loss for the country, which loved her a lot.
She was buried in the family estate of Spencers Althorp on the unique island in the middle of the lake. It was a great sorrow for all the people. Alton John devoted his song Candle in the Wind to her after her death. The material Good bye Diana for the 22d of September 1997 got about 3 million dollars from the sale.
Dianas brother and her two sons, William and Harry, followed the coffin along the streets of London. Prince Charles and the Queens husband, Prince Philip, walked with them. People watched and cried. They listened to Elton Johns song "Candle in the Wind" or Goodbye, Englands Rose.
Goodbye, England's rose; may you ever grow in our hearts. You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart. You called out to our country, and you whispered to those in pain. Now you belong to heaven, and the stars spell out your name. And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind: never fading with the sunset when the rain set in. And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills; your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will. Loveliness we've lost; these empty days without your smile. This torch we'll always carry for our nation's golden child. And even though we try, the truth brings us to tears; all our words cannot express the joy you brought us through the years. Goodbye England's rose, from a country lost without your soul, who'll miss the wings of your compassion more than you'll ever know.
People put thousands of flowers in front of Dianas home, Kensington Palace.
Immediately after her death, opened memorials devoted to Diana, where the public left flowers and other tributes. Palace.
