2 Great Britain is a parliamentary monarchy The Head of the State is Elizabeth II, but she doesnt rule, she has no power

4 Elizabeth II She is very rich and travels a lot. Her residence in London is Buckingham Palace
5 The Commonwealth At the beginning of the XX century Britain was a powerful Empire and had a lot of colonies. Later they became independent, but in 1949 they founded the Commonwealth, which includes 50 states: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Barbados, Kenya, Nigeria, Singapore, New Zealand, the UK, Cyprus and others.

7 Power in Great Britain is divided among three branches: the legislative (законодательная) branch, the executive (исполнительная) branch and the judicial (судебная) branch. The legislative branch is represented by Parliament.

13 Now the Prime Minister is David Cameron the leader of the Conservative Party
