Between 1887 and 1899 he visited many countries and lived for some years in America where he married an American girl. 3. He is best known for his works for children, especially The Jungle Book. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in When he was six years old, his parents sent the boy to England where he attended school. At the age of seventeen he returned to India where he worked as a newspaper reporter for several years.
