4 Australia is situated south of Asia, between the Pacific and the Indian Oceans. Australia is a continent, a country and an island at the same time. Australia is located in the southern hemisphere.
5 The flag of Australia was chosen in 1901, and in 1954 it became the Australia National Flag. It consists of many elements. In the canton there is the Union Flag. Under the Union Flag there is a large seven-pointed star known as the Commonwealth Star. To the right of them there are five white stars – they are the Southern Cross constellation.

This attracted robbers called bushrangers.
