New Year in France The name of the French Ded Moroz is Pier Noel. He rides a donkey. Only the children who get good marks and help their parents can get New Years presents from Pier Noel. On New Years Day the French make a special cake. They put corn or nuts in the cake. The person who gets a surprise in the cake puts on a crown. He or she is the king or the queen of the party. New Year in Finland There are a lot of fairies in Finland. A funny gnome Yolupukki comes to the New Year party. He has got big ears. He knows, who is a good boy, and who is bad. Yolupukki has got a big bag with presents. The children will get presents after they recite poems. The New Year Tree is the most important decoration. Project made by Polina Vladyko
