2 Mark Twain is a famous American writer. He wrote the novel «The Adventures of Tom Sawyer» in 1876.

3 The main hero of the novel is Tom Sawyer, a boy of twelve. Tom lives with his aunt Polly, his step brother and sister. He is clever but naughty boy. He is not a very good student but he has a lot of friends.

4 He met with a beautiful girl Becky at school. They became very good friends.

5 Tom is a very inquisitive boy, he loves travelling. So one day he left home and lived with his friends on an uninhabited island.

6 Some Toms adventures were very dangerous. Tom and Becky went to explore a cave and lost their way. They spent some terrible days there without food and water. Tom found a way out and saved Becky.

7 Toms bravery helped him find a dangerous criminal and a big treasure of gold coins. Toms family was happy and proud of him. Happy End.
