3 New Year. New Years Eve is a more important festival in England. People sit the Old Year out and the New Year in. When the clock begins to strike twelve, the head of the family opens the entrance door and holds it until the last stroke. People often decorate their houses with bouquets of mistletoe.

5 Christmas Day. Christmas Day is the most popular bank holiday. Christmas is the yearly celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It falls on December 25 by the Catholic Church and on the 7th of January by the Orthodox Church. This holiday means the beginning of the new year and the new life
