3 What is creative writing? Its the forms of writing, such as poems, stories and plays, that explain the writers thoughts and feelings through imagination. The kinds of exercises: «If objects could talk.» «Writing as an object». «What are we? » «Live classroom».
4 «Writing as an object». How old are you? What is your earliest memory? What colour are you? What are you made of? Where is your home? What is your purpose? What do you like about your life? What do you hate about your life? - What do you think about your owner? - What is happiness for you? - What are you afraid of? - What will happen to you in the future?
5 Narratives - Stories Introduction Paragraph 1 Set the scene (who – where – when - what) Main Body Paragraphs 2-4 Development (describe incidents leading up to the main event and event itself in detail) Conclusion Final Paragraph End of the story (refer to moods, consequences, peoples reactions, feelings, comments)
6 Reviews Introduction Paragraph 1 (background: setting, type of story, main characters) Main Body Paragraph 2 (main points of the plot) Paragraph 3 (general comments) Conclusion Paragraph 4 (recommendation)
7 Opinion Essays Introduction (state the topic and your opinion clearly) Main Body (viewpoints and reasons) Can have 2-3 paragraphs Conclusion Final Paragraph (restate your opinion, using different words)
8 Chinquapins The form of chinquapin is as follows: First Line: one word, giving title Second line: two words, describing title Third Line: three words, expressing an action Fourth Line: four words, expressing a feeling Fifth line: one word, a synonym for the title Example: Bacon Crisp, delicious Frying and spattering Waiting to be eaten Breakfast.
9 HAIKU First line – 5 syllables Second line – 7 syllables Third line – 5 syllables Example: The bright dragonfly Moves swiftly over water Racing his image.
