2 The purpose: to trace the path of women to equality with men Tasks: to provide a definition of a gender, to compare the status of women and their positions in different ages; to group historical moments which led women to their main goal – to have equal rights with men; to examine and describe some influent feminine figures of the last and present centuries; to explain the influence of changing gender roles on women.

6 Three waves of womens movements for their rights First-wave is a period of feminist activity during the 19th and early 20th century. Second-wave feminism is a period of feminist activity that first began in the early 1960s and lasted through the early 1980s. Third-wave feminism is marked as beginning in the early 1990s and continuing to the present for women's greater influence in politics.
