For several years now, schools have debated whether or not pupils should be allowed to bring their mobile phones to school. While there are some advantages to having mobiles at school, I personally believe that it is better for students to leave them at home. First of all they can be a serious distraction in classrooms. It is impossible for teachers and students to focus on classwork if there are constant interruptions from mobile phones ringing. Moreover, students cannot listen to the teacher and concentrate fully on their work if they are sending text messages or playing games. Secondly, there are possible risks to the safety and general welfare of students if they are allowed to bring their mobiles to school. There have been quite a few cases, for instance, of students being attacked and robbed of their phones on their way to and from school. In addition, the classroom should not be used as a place to show off possessions. On the other hand, however, there are times when it can be useful for students to have mobiles at school. For example, some parents prefer their children to have their phones with them so that they can contact each other during the day in case of an emergency. AII in all, although allowing mobiles in schools can be beneficial to a certain extent, it seems to me that they are an unnecessary distraction, especially in class. 13 Should animals live in captivity? Should animals live in captivity? Advantages and disadvantages of keeping animals in zoos.
Most people would agree that zoos are very important. Only at zoos we can enjoy the variety of nature. Nowhere but at zoos we can observe a wide range of animals, their behavior and habits. However many people believe that animals suffer in captivity and feel much happier in their natural habitats
On the one hand there are a number of disadvantages to keeping animals in zoos. To begin with, in some zoos animals are kept in small cages. Consequently, they experience loneliness and la с k of motion which causes depression and illnesses. Sick and injured animals often do not get medical help. Then animals are not fed enough. Also zookeepers exploit animals making them entertain people on beaches and in parks. What is more, very often the animals are teased and even beaten. As a result, in poor and unhealthy conditions animals degrade and die.
But on the other hand there are many positive aspects to keeping animals in well-organized zoos. Firstly, animals live in spacious enclosures, similar to their natural habitats. Secondly, animals are provided with proper food, and excellent medical service, including qualified medical operations. Furthermore, zoos offer care for baby animals left without parents. And finally, zoos conduct breeding and conservations programmes to help endangered species and to increase their population.
All things considered, the advantages of keeping animals in zoos outweigh the disadvantages. Zoos are important in the preservation of animals since human activity greatly damaged their habitats. I also believe that zoos teach people, especially children, to be kind, patient, to love and understand nature. For these reasons I strongly agree that zoos are necessary for the protection of animals
