© 2009 Avaya Inc. All rights reserved.2 Module Introduction First Steps This module provides participants an overview of IP Office Manger configuration settings for Voic Pro including: IP Office Manager voic settings Voic options for: – Users – Hunt Groups IP Office licensing options

© 2009 Avaya Inc. All rights reserved.3 IP Office Configuration The default IP Office configuration settings allow voic operation as soon as a voic server is detected on the network. The default settings are: Broadcast address for VM Server of Voic enabled for all Users and Hunt Groups No Voic Code / Password set on any mailbox No Voic or Voic Help operation enabled No Voic Reception numbers set for User mailboxes No default method to collect Hunt Group messages

All rights reserved.4 Manager System Voic Settings The IP Office can be configured for several types of voic from the Voic Type drop down box: – None, Remote Audix, Embedded and Group are options not used with the Voic Pro software – Voic Lite / Pro, Centralized or Distributed are options that utilize the Voic Pro software It is important to verify the setting is correct.

© 2009 Avaya Inc. All rights reserved.5 System Voic Settings - continued Voic Types Centralized Voic – This setting is used for remote systems in a Small Community Network (SCN). Distributed Voic - This option is used in a SCN for remote IP Offices which allows a local Voic Server to associate to the central voic server. Voic Lite / Pro – This is the normal setting used for Voic Pro for a single or centralized location. NOTE: Configuring Centralized, Distributed and Backup Voic option details will be addressed in a separate module in this workshop.

All rights reserved.6 System Voic Settings - continued Voic Lite / Pro Settings Messages Button Goes to Visual Voice - Voic IP Address - Backup Voic IP Address – Voic Channel Reservation – DTMF Breakout – NOTE: It is a best practice to change the Voic IP Address field from the broadcast address to the specific address of the Voic Pro server.

All rights reserved.7 IP Office Licensing – System Editions There are three system licenses used for the core system Essential – default and does not require an added license Preferred – needed for Voic Pro, recording, and custom flows Advanced – needed for advanced applications (TTS,CCR,IVR, etc.). Must have Preferred license also!

All rights reserved.9 Voic Pro Capacity The IP Office Control Unit hardware along with the installed licenses determines the maximum number of connections between a control unit and the Voic Pro Server: IP 406 V2 = 20 IP 412 = 30 IP 500 = 40 ** IP 500v2 = 40 The Preferred Edition license enables 4 ports for use with Voic Pro. Preferred Edition Additional Ports licenses can be added to enable the hardwares maximum capacity. ** 30 ports on systems using software prior to Release 5

© 2009 Avaya Inc. All rights reserved.11 User Voic Settings in Manager By default each users Voic Code / Confirm Voic Code is blank and the Voic On option is checked. The DTMF Breakout options are set to use the System Default settings and can be customized for individual users.

© 2009 Avaya Inc. All rights reserved.12 User Voic Settings - continued Voic Help option IP Office Mailbox mode – users are given an additional prompt For help at any time…. when enabled. Intuity Emulation Mode – this option has no effect. Voic Ringback: When enabled and a new message has been received, the voic server calls the users extension to attempt to deliver the message when activity is detected on the users phone. NOTE: Other options on the User - Voic screen will be addressed in a separate module of this workshop.

© 2009 Avaya Inc. All rights reserved.13 User Voic Short Codes The default IP Office configuration contains the following default Short Codes to control user voic settings: *17 – Collect Messages. *18 – Voic On *19 – Voic Off *48 – Voic Ringback On *49 – Voic Ringback Off

All rights reserved.14 Hunt Group Settings Voic Answer Time: – This setting sets how long a call should be presented to a hunt group, and its overflow groups before going to voic . – When the timer expires the call goes to voic regardless of any announcements, overflow, queuing or any other actions. – If set to Off, voic is used when all available members of the hunt group have been presented the call based on the No answer time setting. – NOTE: There is no default method / Short Code to retrieve Hunt Group messages.

Voic Help option IP Office Mailbox mode – users are given an additional prompt For help at any time…. when enabled. Intuity Emulation Mode – this option has no effect. Broadcast: When enabled, copies of the message are forwarded to the mailboxes of the individual members. The original message in the hunt group mailbox is deleted unless it occurred as a result of call recording. NOTE: Other options on the Hunt Group - Voic screen will be addressed in a separate module of this workshop.
