SJB Configuration and Main Features - 24 switch inputs - Handling of the IPS outputs for 9 loads - Control of 4 internal relays - Control of 4 external relays NOClassificationDescription 1Switch InputThe SJB receives the swtich input, and transmits the switch state to each module via CAN messages. 2Lamp control (IPS)The SJB receives the command from BCM via CAN messages and controls the lamps by IPS. 3Internal relay control The SJB receives the command from BCM via CAN messages and controls the relays in it. (Trunk release relay, turn signal sound relay, power window relay and door lock/unlock relay) 4External relay control The SJB receives the command from BCM via CAN messages and controls the external relays. (Anti-theft relay, anti-theft horn relay and rear/front hot wire relay) 5Sleep Mode If there is no change in the CAN messages and switch inputs for 5 seconds, it swtiches over to the sleep mode. 6Wake-Up Mode If there is any change in the CAN messages or switch inputs under the sleep mode, it swtiches over to the normal mode. 7 Output state transmission The SJB transmits the output states of lamps and rear fog lamp to BCM via CAN messages. 8Fail-safeIn the case of MCU fault, the head lamp LOW swtich input leads to the head lamp LOW operation.

MCU Power Unit Power Prohibit back up circuit LOAD Prohibit back up circuit Output Switch input M/F Switch Fail-safe Control 1) Emergency Operation at the Fault in SJB (Abnormal Operation of SJB) In the case of the MCU fault (operation impossible due to the physical or electrical impact from outside), the SJB checks the head lamp switch state, and if IGN2 is on and the head lamp LOW switch is on, it switches on the head lamp LOW, tail lamp and interior lamp by compulsion to ensure the driver's safety. If the data transmission and reception are impossible due to the faults in the CAN communication line (for both the HIGH and LOW lines) connected with the SJB module when the IGN2 is on, the head lamp LOW, tail lamp and interior lamp are switched off by compulsion. 2) Emergency Operation at the CAN Communication Line Disconnection (With the CAN bus OFF and BCM Connector Removed)
