GWGK v Module Summary A gatekeeper is an H.323 entity on the network, which provides services such as address translation and network access control for H.323 terminals, gateways, and MCUs. Gatekeepers are configured with local zones, remote zones, and prefixes. Gatekeepers provide gatekeeper-based CAC for bandwidth management. Directory gatekeepers are used for greater scalability in H.323 networks. HSRP redundancy is recommended only for directory gatekeepers. GUP cluster redundancy is the most flexible redundancy option in H.323 networks.
