3 Introduction EPB Benefits of EPB EPBMechanical type Neither lever nor foot pedal is required. More space and higher degree of design for passenger compartment cabin. Automatic release upon starting with parking brake engaged. Lever or pedal is required. Design layout is restricted due to the lever or pedal. Not released but warning (some model only) upon starting with parking brake engaged.

7 Main functions EPB Drive Away Release (DAR) Engine Off Apply Sensor cluster: Variant 1: Yaw rate + Lateral G + Longitudinal G (with EPB) Variant 2: Yaw rate + Lateral G (without EPB) EPB is released automatically as gas pedal is depressed. Gas pedal DAR function EPB is released considering to avoid retraction at uphill starting. EPB is engaged automatically whenever IG OFF.
