The Gerund

Герундий (the Gerund) Герундий (the Gerund) – это неличная форма глагола, которая обладает свойствами как глагола (называет действия и имеет категории перфекта и залога), так и существительного (выполняет в предложении те же функции, что и существительное). Герундий может употребляться в функции всех членов предложения, кроме простого сказуемого. Герундий образуется от основы глагола с помощью суффикса –ing: to translate – translating.
