Why do parents and teens have so much conflict? It is not possible for anyone at any age to live together without experiencing some conflict. Even in loving families there are conflicts. So, conflict is a natural thing in our life. Almost all our classmates argue with their parents. The aim of the project is to reduce conflicts between our classmates and their parents. Objectives: to reveal causes of conflicts between teens and their parents to make a survey among our classmates to work out useful tips for our classmates and their parents. Participants: 20 students from Form 9B

Conflict occurs when: One person feels his or her beliefs, values, way of living, or territory are threatened. There are disagreements about how to do something. There is not enough of something to satisfy everyone. Communication has broken down. Applying these reasons for conflict to living with teens, parents need to know: Teens no longer accept a parents knowledge and ideas without some questions. Teens have discovered their ability to question and debate. Teens are trying to figure out who they are because they have had many experiences throughout their growing up years which differ from how things are in their home.

Do you argue with your parents? Picture 1 shows that 95 % of our classmates argue and quarrel at home. According to the results we can say, that conflict with parents is a natural thing for them.

So, 85% of our classmates have frequent conflicts with their parents and they are not able to cope with the situation. How can we help them?
