The Participle is a non-finite form of the verb which has verbal, adjectival and adverbial properties. There are two participles in English: Present participle ( Participle I), Past Participle ( Participle II).
Present Participle is formed by adding the ending –ing to the infinitive without the particle to. to read-reading to sit- sitting,to begin- beginning to prefer-preferring to travel- travelling to lie- lying, to tie –tying, to die- dying to study -studying
Past Participle (Participle II) of regular verbs coincides in form with the Past Indefinite of these verbs. to ask- asked to dress- dressed
