Sydney is Australia's oldest city. Sydney is famous for its beaches and surfing! Famous beaches such as Bondi Beach, Manly Beach and Palm Beach and many more are great places for keen surfers and swimmer. There are also many forests and parks scattered around Sydney. Sydney is divided into North and South of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The city has parks around it such as Hyde Park and the Domain. Darling Harbour and the Sydney Aquarium are also close by. You can catch the bus, train or ferry to travel around Sydney and see all its wonderful attractions.

During the winter months, it snows in the Snowy Mountains! The Snowy Mountains are about six hours drive from Sydney. The best places to ski are Thredbo, Perisher and Selwyn. During the summer, the weather in Sydney can be quite hot and humid, reaching 38°C. The average temperatures in Sydney are: Summer (Nov – Mar) T: 20°C - 30°C Autumn (Apr – Jun) T: 15°C - 23°C Winter (Jun – Aug) T: 8°C - 13°C Spring (Sep – Nov) T: 18°C - 25°C

This is a popular and famous tourist attraction because of the unusual shape of the roof and the wonderful view of the Sydney Harbour.

The Opera House was designed by a Danish architect, Jørn Utzon and was completed in The shape of the roof was inspired by the opening of palm leaves. It is listed as a world heritage building because of its beauty and structure.

There are many performances held at the Opera House from ballet performances, to opera, musicals and bands! You can arrange for a tour of the Opera House with a tour guide who will explain the history and structure of the building.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of Australia's most well known landmarks. It is the world's largest (but not the longest) steel arch bridge with the top of the bridge standing 134 metres above the harbour. The bridge connects the southern and northern parts of Sydney. The bridge was opened to the public in 1932.

There are many ways to explore Australia's most famous icon. You can either drive, walk, cycle or catch the train across the bridge!

You can arrange to climb up the top of the bridge by walking the Bridge Climb. It is a 2 hour guided tour where you walk along the side of the bridge and see the fantastic views from the top! At all times, you are safe as you wear safety gear that attaches onto the bridge rails.

You can also climb the pylon which is a concrete structure at both ends of the bridge. For a small fee you can climb up and also see the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour and the City. You can also walk across the bridge as there is a pathway on one side of the bridge. You can walk the bridge from either The Rocks or from the train station at Milsons Point (northern part of Sydney).

At the Sydney Tower, you can pay and catch a lift to go to the top of the tower to their Observation Deck. From there, you have a full view of Sydney. If you are more daring, you can go on the Skywalk which is a guided tour that is outside the Sydney Tower.

You are attached to a cable and walk on a glass floor that sticks out from the tower. You can see the streets and people underneath your feet through the glass floor!! There is also a restaurant at the top of the tower that slowly revolves around as you eat! But be careful when you come out of the toilets as you may have to find your table as it would have moved!!

Darling Harbour is the social and cultural centre of Sydney!! You can find there: Many cafes, restaurants and shops You can visit the IMAX cinema!! It shows movies in 3D movies on the biggest screen in the world!!

There are many cultural events, street performers and many other types of entertainment You can walk and relax in the Chinese Garden of Friendship. It is a pleasant garden that celebrates the friendship between Sydney and China. You can visit also the Chinese tearoom as well! You will need to pay for the entrance It is also close to Chinatown where there are many Chinese restaurants, cafes and shops! Nearby is Paddy´s Haymarket! This is a great market where you can buy cheap clothes, fruits, and vegetables! The market is opened from Thursday to Sunday and during holidays!

This is the oldest part of Sydney as it was where the first European settlement of Australia started. The oldest building in Sydney is here! It is called the Cadmans Cottage and it was built in 1816 as a workshop for ships. The building is now being used as an information centre for the Sydney Harbour National Park.

The Rocks is famous for its narrow stone lanes, with great cafes, restaurants and pubs! There are always bands playing in the pubs during the week! The Rocks markets are held during the weekends. The markets sell many beautiful, hand crafted pieces for tourists and locals!

Sydney Aquarium is one of the most attractive aquariums in the world. They have some of Australias aquatic life with over 12,000 animals including huge sharks and rays, platypus, seals, fairy penguins, crocodiles!. Aquarium is divided into a few sections according the localities of natural habitat of animals (northern /southern rivers, northern /southern oceans) The main attraction is a glass tunnel under the water, where visitor can see huge sharks, rays or turtles from an extraordinary angle of view. Aquarium is located in Darling Harbour.

You can see more than 2,000 species of animals, many of them Australian. Feathers, fur, fins and fangs can be found at the Taronga Zoo. Natural habitats were carefully designed by experts. The zoo has one of the best views of Sydney.

The Blue Mountains are part of the Great Dividing Range, which are mountains that start in Melbourne and runs through New South Wales. The name Blue Mountains is from the blue haze that comes when the eucalyptus oil evaporates from all the gum trees.

Byron Bay is famous for it beautiful beaches which is 37 kilometers long! Surfers and swimmers love coming here and enjoy the relaxed environment, the great cafes and can go dolphin and whale watching!

You can also try skydiving, gliding or riding in a hot air balloon as well!! There are also several excellent surfing and diving schools in this area because of the great surf conditions! During the Easter weekend, people from around the country comes to attend the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival. They also have music, arts and writing festivals throughout the year
