E lectronic books
An electronic book is an electronic device designed to display text or graphic information presented in electronic form. For example, electronic books or magazines.
History The whole story began with Michael Hart, who created the Gutenberg project in 1971, which provides for the digitization and preservation of various works of world literature in text format.
The first highly specialized device for reading electronic documents was developed by DEC in 1996.
The first mass e-books were devices with monochrome LCD screens, released almost simultaneously in 1998 by NuvoMedia and Softbook Press.
Since 2007, the e-book market has experienced a boom in connection with the advent of electronic paper technology screens. This is noticeable both in the increase in the number of manufacturers and in the increase in the list of models.
Pros(+) and cons(-) of e-books +the image on the display does not flicker, compared with a phone or tablet computers; +long working time (from two to four weeks) without recharging; +smaller weighs ( grams) relative to tablet computers; +compactness: you do not need bookcases and stacks of books,
+it is convenient to read outside the home, for example, on a bus; +financial profitability: the price of an e-book is 20 paper books; +an electronic book is much easier to find for free. Even if the electronic publication is paid, then it costs 2-3 times cheaper than the print version. -There are very few cons of an e-book, but they exist. The disadvantages include: fragility of the electronic book; not so perceived information; you cant feel the sensation of new printed pages and their smell.
Personally, I dont need an e-book. I have few books (from about 20 to 25 books) and I love paper format. Thanks for your attention!
