The work which people undertake provides them with money. People buy goods with money and goods are sold for money. Coins are adequate for small transactions, while paper notes are used for general business. But in different countries people use different currencies. In America they use the dollar, the pound sterling in England, in Germany the euro and the in Russia – ruble.
The official currency of Russia is the ruble (rouble), which is equal to 100 kopeks (kopeck). There are coins of the following denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10 ruble and there are banknotes of the following denominations: 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 rubles.
