The topic of research The topic of this research is «Computer slang». The aim of the research is to study the computer discourse as a social subsystem of language. The main task of the work is to define the term «sleng» and to study the ways computer slang words are formed in Ukrainian.
Language is the most powerful tool for research out to others. The rapid growth of computer technologies and the the introduction of personal computers and computer devices has enriched both English and the Ukraunian language with a great variety of special words, phrases, expressions, terminology and slang. «Slang» is a kind of language consisting of very informal words amd phrases. Examples of slang Among the most frequently used computer slang expressions are abbreviated words, phrases and even sentences called acronyms. For example, «TNX» stands for «Thanks», «Have a nice day!» condenses to «HAND» and the phrase «Rolling on the floor laughing» becomes «ROFL». The first person to studying acronyms was professor Finkel back in Such net-slang expressions as «OMG»(Oh my God!) and «LOL» (Laughing out loud) were added to the Oxford Dictionary of the English language not long ago.
There are many computer slang words in use. Some are more understood than others, and new ones are evolving all the time. Computer slang seems to be an ignorant field for most adults but teenagers frequently use it in chat rooms as well as in live communications.
Conclusion Nevertheless, it would be wrong to argue that computer slang can with time replace the literary language, as it is mainly used by professionals, computer users and programmers. They need it to understand the processes connected with computer technologies and each other better.
