Air pollution Ульянов Даниил 10б
Air pollution is a major environmental problem, which represents a great risk for every living being on our planet. Air pollution occurs when the air contains such amount of dust, gases, fumes, that nature cant cope with.
Outdoor air pollution is caused by commercial, industrial and domestic sources. These sources are usually concentrated in big cities and the main producers of dangerous gases are factories and motor vehicles. Increasing industrialization and urbanization lead to releasing more wastes that natures system (plants, absorbing carbon dioxide, wind, dispersing gases and rain, washing the dust) cant neutralize.
Outdoor air pollution creates global problems (among which are global warming and ozone depletion) that require international cooperation to find solution.
Heating with biomass fuels (dung, agricultural residues, wood, straw) or coal and indoor cooking produce high levels of smoke containing health-damaging pollutants. The influence of these pollutants can lead to different respiratory organs diseases (for example, chronic obstructive pulmonary or even lung cancer).
In developing countries indoor air pollution is the major cause of fatal illnesses (such as pneumonia) among children. WHO makes a lot of effort to solve the problem with indoor and outdoor air pollution, but finding of solution depends on every human being on the Earth.
