The Soviet people were living a happy peaceful life

But came the year of The peaceful labor of Soviet people was interrupted. The Great Patriotic War began. It was the most terrible, cruel war in the history of our country.

Hitler wanted to destroy all the Soviet people in a short period of time. But all his plans failed, because our soldiers, officers and leaders were clever and brave.

The battle of Moscow began on the 30 th of September in Hundreds of thousands of Muscovites helped our defenders. The enemy will not pass, they said. The soldiers and commanders did everything possible and even impossible to stop the enemy. On the 7 th of November the Soviet soldiers paraded in Red Square.

The Battle of Kursk took place when German and Soviet forces confronted each other on the Eastern Front during World War II in the vicinity of the city of Kursk, (450 kilometres / 280 miles south of Moscow) in the Soviet Union in July and August It remains both the largest series of armored clashes, including the Battle of Prokhorovka, and the costliest single day of aerial warfare in history. It was the final strategic offensive the Germans were able to mount in the east. The resulting decisive Soviet victory gave the Red Army the strategic initiative for the rest of the war.
