Рresentation In the world of flowers

My granny likes nature and flowers very much. She lives in a small house and there are many flowers around her house. My granny says that there is a special flower for each month. So I want to tell about some of her and my favourite flowers.

Honeysuckles Honeysuckles are in the family Caprifoliaceae and can be found in the Northern Hemisphere. Honeysuckles are valued as garden plants for their ability to cover walls of the buildings. They blossom in summer and have the intense fragrance of many varieties. It is a very nice flower with purple berries. Honeysuckle is a June flower.

Primroses The primrose is a well- known February flower and a common spring- flowering British Beaconsfield, whose favourite flower is reputed to be the primrose. The primrose is one of the earliest flowers. This flower is wild and you can see it in China, Europe and North America. Primroses may be different bright colours but all kinds are very beautiful.

Snowdrops The snowdrop is a January flower. This flower is white as snow, it grows in forests and gardens. Snowdrops are in the Red book of Russia, they are rare in our country and need protection.

Lilies The lily is a summer flower. The lilies are big bright flowers. The lilies have many nice colours: red, yellow, orange, pink, white, purple. The lilies have a surprisingly pleasant smell. This flower is so wonderful that there is even a female name Lily.

Tulips The tulip is a very nice flower. This is a spring flower that grows up in forests and gardens. The tulips are various colours. Tulips are very common in Russia especially on International Women's Day and I like this flower very much.

Chrysanthemums The flower for November is the chrysanthemum. It is one of the oldest known flowers. It has been grown in Japan for nearly two thousand years and is the national flower. Chrysanthemums are sometimes called mums or chrysanths. In some countries of Europe chrysanthemums are symbols of death.

Poppies The flower for August is the poppy. Poppies are bright red, yellow, orange, violet. They often grow in the fields and in the mountains. They look like cups. Flower seeds are edible and are used in biscuits, cakes that turn out to be very tasty.

Daisies April flowers are daisies. You can see these flowers everywhere. Daisy herbaceous plant is originated from Eurasia and North America. Today daisies can be found in each garden. They decorate the lawns, flowerbeds, terraces and bouquets. It is a very nice flower which may be different colours.

Daffodils The flower of March is a daffodil. The flowers are usually yellow and white. The plant has long leaves and a sweet pleasant smell. You can see this flower very early in spring in many gardens, in the meadows and even in the woods of Europe, North Africa and West Asia.

Camomiles The camomile is summer flower. It has long white petals around the yellow middle. The flower is found in the fields, in the meadows, in the gardens, in the villages. The camomile is used in medicine, in cosmetics. It helps people to treat different illnesses.

Hawthorns The flower for May is the hawthorn. The hawthorn has little berries which look like small red apples. The hawthorn is found mainly in North America and Eurasia. In nature the hawthorns are usually met in forests, glades and meadows.

Water lilies July's flowers are water lilies. You can often see them on the lakes, the ponds and quiet rivers. This flower has a lot of colours such as white, yellow, orange, pink, red, blue, purple. Frogs like to use their large green leaves as playgrounds.

Morning-glories The morning-glory is a September flower. The flower is a climbing plant with pink, blue or purple flowers. Their green leaves look like small green hearts. The morning-glory opens early in the morning, but when the hot sun appears in the sky it closes. Its blossoms are like bells. It grows up everywhere.

Hollies December's plant is the holly. The holly is a tree or a shrub, with dark- green leaves and red small berries. Gardeners often use the holly for decoration. It is used to decorate houses for Christmas in Britain and America. It is evergreen.

Violets The violet is a house plant which needs warmth and care. It is a very demanding and very capricious plant. The violets may be different colours. Besides you can see the wild violets in the meadows and the fields.

The gladiolus The gladiolus flower is beautiful and majestic. It grows only in summer. It has a long stem with large and colourful flowers. It resembles a bell having green leaves that look like sharpened swords. The gladiolus is found in Africa and Eurasia.

Dahlias Dahlia is a genus of herbaceous perennial plants native mainly in Mexico, but also Central America, and Colombia.There are at least 36 species of dahlia, with hybrids commonly grown as garden plants.The dahlia was declared the national flower of Mexico in 1963.

Echinaceas Echinacea is a genus, or group of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family, Asteraceae.They are endemic to eastern and central North America, where they are found growing in moist to dry prairies and open wooded areas.Some species are used in herbal medicines and some are cultivated in gardens for their showy flowers.

Iris Iris is a genus of species of flowering plants with showy flowers.Their habitats are varied, ranging from cold and montane regions to the grassy slopes, meadowlands and riverbanks of the northern hemisphere.

Begonias Begonia is a genus of perennial flowering plants in the family Begoniaceae. The genus contains about 1,400 different plant species.The Begonias are native to moist subtropical and tropical climates.

Rose Garden roses are predominantly hybrid roses that are grown as ornamental plants in private or public gardens. It is believed that roses were grown in all the early civilisations of temperate latitudes from at least 5000 years ago. They are known to have been grown in ancient Babylon.

Petunias Petunia is genus of 35 species of flowering plants of South American origin.The popular flower of the same name derived its epithet from the French, which took the word petun, meaning "tobacco," from a Tupi–Guarani language.

Peony The peony is a flowering plant in the genus Paeonia, the only genus in the family Paeoniaceae. They are native to Asia, Southern Europe and Western North America.The peony is named after Paeon, a student of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and healing. Asclepius became jealous of his pupil; Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower.
