Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer, navigator, and colonizer. Under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, he completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean. Those voyages, and his efforts to establish permanent settlements on the island of Hispaniola, initiated the Spanish colonization of the New World. Columbus first crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the subtropical and tropical belt of the northern hemisphere and the first European to go to the Caribbean. He opened and laid the foundation for the study of South and Central America, including continental part and the surrounding archipelago - Greater Antilles (Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica and Puerto Rico) CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS

Neil Alden Armstrong (August 5, 1930 – August 25, 2012) was an American astronaut and the first person to walk on the Moon. He was also an aerospace engineer, naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor. Before becoming an astronaut, Armstrong was an officer in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. MARCO POLO Marco Polo was born 15 September 1254 and was a Venetian merchant traveller, whose travels are recorded in Livres des merveilles du monde (Book of the Marvels of the World, also known as The Travels of Marco Polo, c. 1300), a book that introduced Europeans to Central Asia and China. Marco Polo was not the first European to reach China (see Europeans in Medieval China), but he was the first to leave a detailed chronicle of his experience. This book inspired Christopher Columbus and many other travellers.

Roald Amundsen (Norwegian: 16 July 1872 – c. 18 June 1928) was a Norwegian explorer of polar regions. He led the Antarctic expedition (1910–12) that was the first to reach the South Pole, on 14 December In 1926 he was the first expedition leader to be recognized without dispute as having reached the North Pole.He is also known as having the first expedition to traverse the Northwest Passage (1903–06) in the Arctic. He disappeared in June 1928 in the Arctic while taking part in a rescue mission by plane. Amundsen was among key expedition leaders, including Douglas Mawson, Robert Falcon Scott, and Ernest Shackleton, during the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. ROALD AMUNDSEN

Jacques Cousteau commonly known in English as Jacques Cousteau; 11 June 1910 – 25 June 1997) was a French naval officer, explorer, conservationist, filmmaker, innovator, scientist, photographer, author and researcher who studied the sea and all forms of life in water. JACQUES COUSTEAU Cousteau described his underwater world research in series of books, perhaps most successful being his first book, The Silent World: A Story of Undersea Discovery and Adventure, published in 1953.
