Korgalzhyn rayon was founded in 1928 in the composition of the Akmola district of the former counties: Concor-Korgalzhyn, Korgalzhyn, Sonali, Axicon, Saryozen and parts Karachinsky. The lake is located in the steppe region, rich in fish, waterfowl and migratory game birds, its nests and campsites on the lakes of Korgalzhyn, Kokay, Chagan river, Cascallar, karagar, Uzynkol, Janybek. Only his waters are of the rare beauty of pink flamingos. Here is a special unique Korgalzhyn state nature reserve, established in 1968.
Korgalzhyn state natural reserve-one of the two Kazakhstan nature reserves included in the world heritage list of UNESCO in the composition of the object Saryarka Steppe and lakes of Northern Kazakhstan. Korgalzhyn reserve is located 130 km South-West of Astana. Korgalzhyn reserve was established in 1968 to preserve the unique wetlands that are the habitat of flamingos, Dalmatian pelicans and other birds. Most of the territory is occupied by salt and fresh water. The area constitutes a General system of double lake: running Korgalzhyn lakes and closed lakes of the Tengiz connected. Tengiz-Korgalzhyn lake is not only the most extensive water area of a steppe zone, but also one of the most unique places in the entire Eurasian continent, crossed by two major bird migration flyways the Central Asian and sibero-South European.
On the reserve notes of more than 60 rare species of animals and plants listed in the Red Book. In the Kazakhstan Red Book listed 5 species of plants: Shrenka Tulip, Tulip drooping, Adonis (Adonis) Volzhsky, backache yellowish, drooping backache. Shrenka Tulip is of great importance as a reserve Fund breeding material. This kind of outstanding large size and bright color of the flower, are extremely diverse – from white and yellow to bright red and maroon this type is the ancestor of the first cultivars of tulips, bred in Holland in the sixteenth century.
Maria Yegorovna Regina, alias Mariyam Zagorova-the author and performer of Kazakh folk songs, the honored worker of arts Kazakh SSR, composer (1945). As the daughter of immigrant Egor Rykin, Maria, perfectly knew the Kazakh language, a well-known Kazakh folk songs, learned the manner of their execution[1]. Widely known for her song "Dudarai", which is sung about the love of a Russian girl to the Kazakh Dzhigit the Duysen, about the strength of feelings which are not regarded as national and religious prejudices. The song title is derived from the pet name of the girl to the brave (KAZ. Dudar curly) In 1920 the well-known collector of the Kazakh folk music, musician-ethnographer A. Zatayevich recorded more than ten versions of the song "Dudarai". It formed the basis of the Opera by E. G. Brusilovsky, "Dudarai", first performed in 1953 in the Kazakh state academic theatre of Opera and ballet named after Abay in Alma-ATA. Kazakh poet H. N. Bekkhozhin was dedicated in honor of the love story of Maria and Duysen poem "Mariyam Zagorova" (1950)
