The word "Pharmacy" is derived form the Greek work ''Pharmakon'', meaning drug. The word Pharmacy has two meanings: 1)General sense - it is a place or shop where drugs or medicines are sold 2)Professional sense - it is the profession, the members of which deal with drugs.
Pharmacy Pharmacy is the science and technique of preparing and dispensing drugs. It is a health profession that links health sciences with chemical sciences and aims to ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs.

Pharmacy is defined as the art and science of recognizing,identifying,collecting, selecting, preparing, storing,testing, compounding and dispensing all substances used in preventive or in curative medicine for treating people.
