Biography Millet was born in Southampton and began to study painting at the age of nine. In 1838, when it became apparent to his ability, the family moved to London. In 1846, appeared before the public with the historical pattern of "Pizarro took prisoner the Inca of Peru," which critics have recognized the best in the entire academic exhibition of the year and the following year won the gold medal for his film "Attack of the tribe of Benjamin to the daughters of Siloam." In 1848, one of the shows Millais Holman Hunt met with Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and with them founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. «Isabella, or the Pot of Basil, 1818.» Vassal of love - Lorenzo Young, Beautiful, ingenuous Isabel! Perhaps Mademoiselle, that under the roof of one Love their hearts not captured; Perhaps Mademoiselle, so a meal a day Their views are not met now and then; To make them middle of the night in silence Each other not dreamed in a dream.
