When you come home from school you feel different: sometimes you are active and cheerful; and other days you're tired and irritable. You've got a headache and you dont want to do anything. Dont you think, why? Why do you feel different after school? What can have an influence on your mood? Once my teacher told that the NOISE has a very strong influence on а person. I decided to check it out.
How does the NOISE influence a man and affect his health? To answer the question, I followed the plan: Collect the information about the noise and its impact on a person in the Internet; Discuss this information with the classmates and with the parents; Test the effects of loud music on my body; Measure the level of noise in our gymnasia; Analyse the results; Make conclusions.
What is noise? From the Internet and books, I learned that SOUND is something that you hear. NOISE is a collection of sounds of different intensity. Dahls dictionary says: «NOISE is sound of any kind, voices, affecting the ear, loud voices, screaming, knocking, everything that gets heard in the ears».
The sources of noise are: TV sets, tape recorders, washing machines, radios; transport (trains, planes, cars); construction work; natural sounds (thunder, rain, earthquake, rustle of leaves); music, screams; whisper, conversation.
The influence of noise on a persons health Noises can be pleasant and unhealthy. Pleasant noises include: the sound of the sea, babbling stream, the rustle of leaves, the sound of rain, birds singing and the voice of dolphins. We like to listen to these sounds. They help us to relax.
The influence of noise on a persons health But noise, loud music may influence the human body badly. Noise effects your ears; your nervous system; your heart; immune system. Loud music makes you irritable, nervous, weak, forgetful; you may hear and see badly; you get tired very quickly; you cant do your homework well.
The influence of loud music on a persons health A lot of children listen to loud music for a long time with the headphones. The maximum volume of modern player varies from 100 to 115 decibels. Scientists claim that if you use the music player for more than 90 minutes a day, you may lose hearing.
How can you measure the level of noise? The level of noise is measured in decibels (dB). The rocket engine is 140 dB Girls scream is 127 dB The sound of metro is 100 dB «Hurrah!» is 100 dB The harmful level of noise is 90 dB Clapping hands is 88 dB Vacuum cleaner is 70 dB Automobile traffic on the freeway is 60 dB Comfortable sound for a person is dB The conversation is 40 dB The rustling of leaves is 10 dB The level of noise which is higher than 180 decibels can be fatal.
I made the experience I listened to the loud musicI stayed in a quiet room At first I was cheerful, then I got tired, had a headache, there was noise in my ears, I became absent-minded, irritable. I couldnt focus on my homework. In the evening I couldnt fell asleep for a long time. I rested, did my homework quickly and correctly, in the evening I fell asleep quickly. The conclusion is loud music has a negative effect on a persons health. The conclusion is silence has a positive effect on a persons health.
Then I measured the level of noise in gymnasia 8 The results of measurements are: - in the cafeteria at dinner-time the level of noise was about 83 dB; - during the breaks the level of noise was about 76 dB. Comfortable sound for a person is dB. The harmful level of noise is 90 dB. The level of noise which is higher than 180 decibels can be fatal. The conclusion is the level of noise in gymnasia exceeds the comfortable noise level for a person. It means that the high level of noise influences the health of our pupils and teachers badly.
