If you think of Great Britain ancient castles, monarchs, pubs, magnificent modern cities, the British empire, the skyscrapers of London City, medieval little houses of Scotland, colleges of Oxford, museums, Big Ben, the Tower, Shakespeare, the Knights of the Round Table and other things and sights come into your mind.

A variety of Britain This small island represents the whole world. There are strong regional distinctions between the North and the South, the West and the East not only in character, meals, traditions, clothes, but also in language inhabitants of different regions of England sometimes simply cannot understand each other. And a variety of the nature, a landscape, geography, economy transforms small island into the huge country. But the most important is a relation of the Englishmen perceiving their country as not having borders.

Thanks to the fact that it has excellent road-building materials and people rarely have severe winter frosts that damage the roads very much, and they don`t suffer from heat, drought or flooding, there are good roads. In this country you are never very far from the coast and there are a lot of seaside resorts.

British nature Britain has a rich, fertile countryside. The climate is ideal for gardening. Home- grown vegetables taste better than those in shops. They also grow lawns of grass which stay green throughout the year.

Who said that Britain is rainy? If to ask any foreigner, what is weather in Britain like, the answer will be itsrainy, vile and boring.
