THE MONARCH Elizabeth became Queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) upon the death of her father, George VI, on 6 February Elizabeth was born on 21 April 1926 in London. Elizabeth and her younger sister Margaret were educated at home. On the outbreak of war in 1939, they were evacuated to Windsor Castle. In 1945, Elizabeth joined the war effort, training as a driver in the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service. Is the official head of the state and an integral part of the Parliament in her constitutional role; Has mostly representative functions; Gives the Royal assent to the bills; The Head of the Commonwealth of Nations

Control the executive brunch of power. Consists of more then 1100 non-elected members (peers and life peers). They have got their seats from their fathers-people with tittles. They examine and refuse bills from the House of Commons. They have real influence in politics.
