Starry Night Over the Rhone Starry night Over the Rhone (September 1888) is one of Vincent van Gogh's paintings of Arles at night; it was painted at a spot on the banks of river which was only a minute or two's walk from the Yellow House on the Place Lamartine which Van Gogh was renting at the time. The night sky and the effects of light at night provided the subject for some of his more famous paintings, including Cafe Terrace at night (painted earlier the same month) and the later canvas from saint-Rémy, the Starry night.The challenge of painting at night intrigued Van Gogh. The vantage point he chose for Starry night Over the Rhone allowed him to capture the reflections of the gas lighting in Arles across the glimmering blue water of the Rhône.

The Night Café The Night Café (original French title: Le Café de nuit) is an oil painting executed on industrial primed canvas of size 30 (French standard) in Arles in September 1888, by Vincent van Gogh. Its title is inscribed lower right beneath the signature.The interieur depicted is the Café de la Gare, 30 Place Lamartine, run by Joseph-Michel and his wife Marie Ginoux, who in November 1888 posed for Van Gogh's and Gauguin's Arlésienne; a bit later, Joseph Ginoux evidently posed for both artists, too.

Bedroom in Arles Bedroom in Arles (French: La Chambre à Arles; Dutch: Slaapkamer te Arles) is the title given to each of three similar paintings by 19th-century Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh.Van Gogh's own title for this composition was simply The Bedroom (French: La Chambre à coucher). There are three authentic versions described in his letters, easily discernible from one another by the pictures on the wall to the right.

Wheat Field with Crows Wheat Field with Crows was painted in July It is commonly and mistakenly believed that this was Van Gogh's last painting, or even that he shot himself while he was painting it: this is how it was portrayed in the film Lust for Life. However, there is no evidence to support this idea, and Dr. Jan Hulsker's chronology gives seven works following it.A usual interpretation of this painting is that it shows Van Gogh's troubled state of mind with a dark, forbidding sky, the indecision of three paths going in different directions and the black crows overhead being signs of foreboding or even death.

Portrait of Dr. Gachet Portrait of Dr. Gachet is one of the most revered paintings by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh and fetched a record price of $82.5 million ($75 million, plus a 10 percent buyer's commission) in 1990.There are two authentic versions of this portrait, both painted in June 1890 during the last months of Van Gogh's life. Both show Doctor Gachet sitting at a table and leaning his head onto his right arm, but they are easily differentiated.

The Red Vineyard The Red Vineyard was exhibited for the first time at the annual exhibition of Les XX, 1890 in Brussels, and sold for 400 Francs (which is equal to about$1,000- 1,050 today) to Anna Boch, an impressionist painter, member of Les XX and art mecene from Belgium; Anna Boch was the sister of Eugène Boch, another impressionist painter and a friend of Van Gogh, too, who had painted Boch's portrait (Le Peintre aux Étoiles) in Arles, in autumn 1888.Like The Night Café, it was acquired by the famous Russian collection Sergei Shchukin, was then nationalised by the Bolsheviks with the rest of his collection and eventually passed to the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.$
