Правила додавання закінчення -ing до дієслова у Present Continuous: 1)якщо інфінітив закінчується на -е, перед яким стоїть приголосна, то закінчення -е зникає: write – writing, make – making, forgive – forgiving, take – taking, drive – driving; Винятки – слова, що закінчуються на -ее: agree – agreeing, free – freeing, see seeing;

2) закінчення -іе змінюється на -у: lie – lying, die – dying, tie – tying; 3) закінчення -у залишається без змін: hurry – hurrying;

4) якщо односкладове дієслово закінчується на приголосну, перед якою стоїть наголошена коротка голосна, то ця приголосна подвоюється: win winning, put putting, sit – sitting, stop – stopping, begin – beginning;
