Alan Alexander Milne
Alan Alexander Milne was born in 1882 in London. His father was the head of a small private school where he studied. After graduating from the University of Cambridge Milne began to work as a journalist.
Milne wrote books for children. The tale of Winnie-the- Pooh brought the author a great success.
The Ballad of the Royal Sandwich tells about the king who wanted a sandwich with butter. But the cow refused to give butter, it suggested to eat candies. At last the king got some butter for breakfast. This work teaches us not to be lazy and moody.
In 74 years, 31 January, 1956, Alan Milne died after a long illness. There is a memorial to Alan Milne.
