Elena Vasilyevna Ladygina was born in 1924 in the village Sazhnoye, Belgorod region. Her parents were the poor. Sometimes there was no bread in the house, but however the parents sent their daughter to school. So, in 1931 she went to the local school and finished 7 classes there. After that, in 1938 she continued her studying in one of the schools in Belgorod. After graduating from the school she wanted to study at the Pedagogical Institution, but because of the war her dreams weren't realized. For the long years she had to forget about her dream…

The war brought with itself millions of the wounded destinies and unfulfilled hopes. Our grandparents, great - grandparents wanted also to live, to love, but best of all they wanted to be free…

Thanks to god, she avoided the dispatch to Germany. Her neighbours said in time about the forthcoming dispatch and she could run away. The young girl and her friends were the members of the underground organization in Belgorod. Very often they gathered the very useful information. At that time Elena began to study German. She was sure she had to know the language of the enemy very well.

After the war Elena worked in the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs. First she worked as the secretary, then she headed the Sazhensky department of People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs. In 1949 she was awarded Zhukov's medal for her excellent job.

Some years later, having finished her study at the institute, Elena Vasilyevna began to teach German. She worked at school more than 30 years. Hundreds of pupils, who finished the school at that period, always remember their teacher with gratitude and warmth. All the pupils are the desired guests in her house. Thanks to her, some of them became the teachers too.

Elena Vasilyevna and her colleagues were the wise tutors for a young generation.

Elena Vasilyevna and other veterans remembered all the horrors of the war. They said: - Let there will be a world on the earth! And we, the young generations, say in replay:-Thank you, our dear teacher, that you and the people like you lived and live on this earth!
