Kipling was born in Bombay, India, but attended school in England. Many of Kipling s stories and novels reflect his experience in India. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1907.
Charlotte Bronte The Bronte sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne, who wrote famous novels, lived in England, Yorkshire. A lonely childhood had influenced their imaginative power. They wrote long stories about imaginary countries, about lives of kings, dukes and princesses, love and palace intrigues. They are most famous for novel Jane Eyre.
Robert Burns Robert Burns, Scotlands national poet, was born in an old cottage at Alloway. There was 7 children in the family and Robert was the eldest. Robert began to work very early. At thirteen he was helping his father on a field and farm. He became a famer too. In his poems Burns glorified a healthy, joyous and clever peasant.
