Llamas are friendly animals. They come from the Andes in South America and are good at walking in mountains. Trekking with llamas is different from trekking with horses – you dont ride the llamas but they carry your things.

New Mexico is a very big state in the USA with very different natural environments. We organise treks in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Carson Forest, the canyon of the Rio Grande and the desert areas of the south.

Our guides can teach you about the plants, birds and animals of the area. We organise a variety of treks from easy to difficult. And remember, it is different from normal backpacking because you dont carry anything. Our guides are also good at cooking, so you eat gourmet lunches and dinners!

The mountains, forests and deserts of New Mexico have interesting plants and animals. You can see hundreds of different species, including the famous bald eagle, the symbol of the United States!

New Mexico is a very big state. In the south, it is usually dry and warm and it is hot in the summer. In the mountains in the north, it is warm in the summer, but it is often snowy and cold in the winter. It is not often rainy or cloudy. New Mexico is famous for being sunny!
